Incoming Server: mail.starnova.com
SSL POP3 (Port 995)
SSL IMAP (Port 993)
Outgoing Server: mail.starnova.com
SMTP (port 25 or 587) TLS/STARTTLS connections.
SMTP (port 465) for SSL connections.
Always Enable outgoing server authentication, on your computer select use same login information as incoming server, on mobile devices you may be required to enter your FULL email address and password again.
POP3 is great for downloading your email from the server and storing it locally on your Computer. POP3 will work on multiple devices checking the same account. To see mail on all your devices you must select leave a copy of messages on the server, we recommend you limit the days to save them on the server to roughly 7 so that you do not exceed your quota.
IMAP is designed to store your mail on the server so that you can collaborate between multiple devices more seamlessly. Because your information remains on the server you must monitor your usage as not to go over any quotas for your email account.
We recommend a combination of these methods, setup your PC using POP3 to download and archive your email, have your PC leave a copy on the server for 5 to 7 days, then setup your mobile devices or tablets with IMAP so you can see your messages while you are on the go!
Special Note regarding SSL: If you choose SSL disregard any Certificate warnings you may see, often times when you reach our system the name you typed to reach us may not match our certificate, this does not mean you are any less secure. If you choose to connect in an encrypted form. On mobile devices this should be a onetime warning. On your desktop PC you may be required accept the warning each time you check your mail. to avoid these warnings make sure you use mail.starnova.com as your server addresses or disable SSL.
If you are using Verizon DSL to connect to the internet, to send your email you will need to change your outgoing SMTP port from 25 to the submit port 587.
Additional Notes: some droid phones fail to use SSL on port 25, if you have trouble sending email on droid, Disable SSL on outgoing email.
Webhosting customers should use mail.(substitute your domain here).com for both incoming and outgoing.
Outgoing server notes: Because we use SPF for all of our domains, if you are using another internet provider to connect to the internet for your email to work reliably you must use our outgoing mail server for any mail sent from your @eznet.net email addresses.
To adjust your spam filter settings log into webmail and click spam filter in the menu!
Old server addresses are still valid, such as popmail. pop. pop3. and smtp. although we do recommend you use mail.eznet.net as we cannot guarantee the old formats.
